Pyrotechnic Highlights
With a large fireworks display on Saturday was the opening of the 60th Allgäu festival celebrated in Kempten. Under the theme "Magic Moments" a pyrotechnic musical before the stylish backdrop of the Kempten Residenz and the Basilica of St. Lawrence was staged.
The Allgäu festival sees itself as fair and summer festival experience, and thus as a symbiosis of economic and trade fair. In the 19 halls and the outdoor area of the exhibition are advertised mainly products of and for the regional market. Not all residents are happy about the adverse effects of noise from the night of beer and wine tent in the middle of downtown and the legacies of its visitors. However, each year the organizers are trying a varied program around the festival on the legs to make.
Tradition has it been mentioned at the fireworks, which this year was extremely well worth seeing. After an introduction of a speaker of the Bavarian Radio Orchestra and George Frideric Handel's "Fireworks Music" , performed by the Swabian Brass Ensemble enjoyed thousands of visitors at the Hildegard and Residence Square the colorful spectacle that skillfully to a soundtrack of various composers (especially titles by Hans Zimmer ) was staged.
The opening sequence with a front of St. Lorenz Basilica followed by a fireworks display over the Kempten Residenz.
