Today, the finale of the bestseller by JK Rowling launches in theaters. The film is definitely not a country of sheep documentation, but is difficult to see in what a great backdrop the films were made.
For large parts of the mystical world of Harry Potter were the Scottish Highlands Godfather. A few weeks ago, we toured the country itself, from Edinburgh to Iona and Orkney from Inverness to John O'Groats to Cape Wrath.
Unfortunately, many images are not all worked up, but still I want to introduce a few photos with the "magical" Harry Potter's world, respectively, of the Scottish Highlands.

Sunset on the Seashore Not only for Harry Potter gave Scotland the scenery. Even films like Highlander, Braveheart and many more were more shot here.

It was icy and stormy, but the sky was wonderfully clear. So you could see the stars in the winter sky very well.
Impressed by the clarity of the night, which to me shortly after the new moon on February 6th February 2011 offered, I made my way this star shine capture photographically. On a hill near Wiggensbach Allgäu these two images were created from 0:20 clock.
Starry sky looking west
Sky view to the east via Kempten Too bad that denied us the light pollution of our cities and settlements that most beautiful sight.
Thematically appropriate I found an older picture of the (full) moon, taken on 20.04.2008:

For many of us the familiar surroundings are nothing special on the doorstep. Only when a visitor praises on a beautiful day, the wonderful views of the mountains, green meadows or the many lakes, you might think again briefly about what a wonderful spot to offer our homeland.
Of course, without any pretense of completeness, I've made in recent weeks, a few views of our immediate surroundings together.

The Oberallgäu is becoming a bit rough, but no less endearing.

In the Allgäu is beginning to transform the landscape gently. Besides the usual green areas and forests is increasingly Gedreide here or grown as in this case, Rapp.

Again from its best side, there was the winter of last weekend. Probably the last time, because so slowly takes over the reins of the spring.
The winter had set in the last few months we handle. The cold and gloomy time we usually spend at home, watch TV or use the opportunity for free play poker . Even if we are in the car too easily we forget to enjoy the beauty of winter.
Before the winter but withdraws entirely, but he appears again at its best.

In the past 10 years has focused on sister island of Helgoland "Dune" established a colony of gray seals and also nurseries for young animals. The conditions on this dune offer the photographer the opportunity to come particularly close to the animals.
As opposed to gray seals seals on the German coasts are very rare, there is already a rarity, so many of them to see on a beach. The total stock of gray seals in Schleswig-Holstein North Sea waters is estimated at about 150 to 200 animals. Grey seals are considerably larger than seals. An adult male can be up to 2.3 meters long and 220 kilograms well be difficult.
Since gray seals are aggressive predators, we recommend a due distance (gray seals are often hurt each other even when they get too close). Nowhere, however, one can observe these animals in so short a distance. From just 40 meters I could (based on the image) of the recordings with focal lengths between 400 and 800 mm implement.
